Fall Sessions are Open for Registration!
You and your child will create a deeper connection to nature as we learn songs, animal facts, and offer creative play invitations that encourage children to problem-solve, use teamwork, and think creatively. Classes include creative movement, sensory exploration, and process art, all using naturally sourced materials.
This season our target skill is FOCUS, the symphony of skills we use to direct, shift, and sustain our attention. Throughout the series, we’ll utilise the captivating natural world to teach kids several building blocks of focus: how to feel present in the moment; how to zoom in and zoom out; how to wonder; and how to follow our interests.
We’ll zoom in on the natural treasures within our local outdoor spaces and create our own treasure collection, create an appreciation for the treasure of water by discovering ways to play as well as conserve it, and notice the beauty and treasures of the changing seasons. We’ll zoom out to notice what is happening and changing in our biomes—up, down and all around us, by finding and discovering our tiny insect friends, learning about our weather patterns, and creating mini-worlds with mud and stones. Finally, we’ll incorporate the practice of a ‘breath’ every class, to learn to calm and focus our bodies for play.
